CULTURAL GUIDES

AFRICAN STORYTELLER.jpg

It is a question here of reviving within our communities, the ancestral values UBUNTU (I am because we are), which are values of mutual aid, benevolence and solidarity. These values are based on historical awareness and the strengthening of a cultural identity. To do this, we encourage parents, guardians and caregivers to reconnect with their culture in order to share it with family and within communities. This initiative will create Cultural Carriers who will be equipped to pass on an UBUNTU culture to subsequent generations.

FRENCH
READING CLUB

Do we still need to demonstrate the benefits of reading, but even more! The benefits of reading as a family? Our Reading Club welcomes families, and allows parents and their children to discover a book together, read it and discuss it collectively. 4 books by African authors are offered annually and readers meet once a quarter to discuss them.

SWAHILI CULTURES

Swahili, with an estimated number of speakers of around 400 million people, is spoken throughout East Africa and parts of Central Africa. It enjoys the status of national and official language in Tanzania, national language in Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Swahili is the lingua franca in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, northern Mozambique and, to a lesser extent, Malawi, Zambia and southern Sudan.

COACHING IN STORYTELLING

Stemming from oral tradition, most Afro-descendant adults still remember the stories that shaped their character and personality.

Four annual coaching sessions in storytelling will allow this knowledge to be passed on to others

parents who will pass it on in turn.
