Movement for the Inclusion of Racialized Communities of Ontario

The mission of MICRO, the Movement for the Inclusion of Racialized Communities of Ontario is to encourage Afro-descendants to intentionally reconnect with what remains of their culture, to embrace it in order to strengthen their identity construction, to better anchor themselves in their environment and respond to the challenges of the world, for better living together in Canada.

UBUNTU is the only value we stand for. (I am because you are)

This concept encompasses the notions of truth, integrity, humanity, trust, respect, solidarity, sharing, trust, community, which we wish to bring back to the heart of everything we do.

what do we do ?

Far from revenge and victimhood speeches, we feed on positive images in order to develop a positive cultural identity that encourages success. We work to promote Afro-optimism through history, storytelling, reading, games, cultural and artistic activities; these are all actions that create a powerful disposition for a positive impact on the overall quality of life of our communities, in terms of mental and physical health, socially and economically.
